Office #30, Tuesday

It was a Tuesday. Atton hadn't been in his office in a long time, but it was a Tuesday, and he was in it.

... out of spite. The leg injury made it hard to walk for large amounts of time, so of course he had to walk all the way from his apartment to his office just to prove he could. At which point he'd had to take a painkiller and prop his leg back up on a chair and he probably wasn't leaving the office again until well into the afternoon, but he had food here and the HoloNet. He'd be fine.

Stupid leg.

He propped himself up a little more and opened up the simulation program for Thursday's class. Might as well put in the work to make it as fantastic as possible, and thinking about programming and numbers gave him something to focus on.

Anakin groaned. "Where did you get shot and how badly?"

"I did not get shot," Atton said, rolling his eyes.

Which was true! Force-worms didn't have the limbs required to shoot anything.

"Stab, punctured, concussed, kidnapped, dropped from a building, kicked from a cliff, and so on," Anakin said. "Do you have all of your bits attached still?"

"Yes," Atton said.

He rolled his eyes again, mostly just for his own benefit.

"Does Mical know that?"

[suitably_heroic]

Now Atton just threw his hands up.

"Yes!"

"Force forbid I try to find out if you're bleeding out and just being stubborn about it!"

[suitably_heroic]

"I'm not bleeding out! I just wrecked my leg!" Atton yelled, exasperated. "And any bleeding I did was internal, thank you very much!"

Yeah, that made such a difference.

"Well, as long as the blood stayed inside, that's fine," Anakin replied sarcastically.

[suitably_heroic]

"Hey, it all wound up back where it's supposed to be," Atton retorted.

"So what wrecked your leg?" Anakin asked.

[suitably_heroic]

"Got attacked by some weird Force-monster while trapped in a pirate nest," Atton said. "It had a grudge against my leg."

Or Atton had thrown himself at the thing repeatedly to keep it distracted. To-mah-toe, to-may-toe...

"As Force-monsters do..." Anakin agreed. "How'd you get out?"

[suitably_heroic]

"Visas' Padawan managed to free the troopers that we'd had with us originally and they kept the thing distracted while we killed it," Atton said, shrugging.

Heavily edited version of events, but hey, abuse that phone connection.

"Seems very neat and boring," Anakin said with a little smirk.

[suitably_heroic]

"Hey, we were stuck there for like three days, neat and boring was fine by me," Atton retorted. "Especially considering that Mical didn't warn us that the 'Jedi artifacts' he was looking for came attached to a giant worm."

"Seems like a pretty big oversight," Anakin agreed. "What kind of artifact had him so distracted?"

[suitably_heroic]

"Something something very important holocrons," Atton said. He shrugged. "Mical's the librarian, not me. I'm here to punch things and look handsome."

"And you succeed at the punching," Anakin replied, because of course he did.

[suitably_heroic]

"Exactly," Atton said, "I did my job."

[sith_happened]

"I'm sure that has deeply moved Mical," Anakin said, snickering.

[suitably_heroic]

"I also succeed at the looking handsome," Atton added, "But I don't expect either of you to understand that, being the floppy losers you are."

"You're just jealous of our amazing hair," Anakin said. "I get that a lot."

"When's the last time you even had a haircut?" Atton asked. "You look like a Wookiee."

[sith_happened]

"I shaved it all off before Jaina's wedding," Anakin said, glossing over the part where he'd looked like the galaxy's surliest cue ball.
