MCA #4, Monday Evening

Atton had woken up that morning with only a passable idea of what had happened the previous night; there'd been five full bottles of juma in his fridge, no food anywhere, and an overly enthusiastic message from Skywalker confirming drinking plans Atton had no memory of proposing to the guy. He'd decided the wise thing to do was to get back into bed and maybe not get out of it until he stopped feeling completely miserable on every level.

By five PM, he'd given up on that, and ordered pizza.

By eight PM, he'd opened the second bottle of juma and he was waiting, patiently, for the inevitable dramatic knock/sweep into the room combo that generally heralded Skywalker arriving just about anywhere.

"Thanks," Atton drawled, "Get someone to put that on my obituary. 'Annoying, but didn't bother Anakin Skywalker too much'."

"If I'm the one to write it, that will absolutely be in it," Anakin promised. "Also 'stupid hair.'"

"Better than yours," Atton retorted.

Atton did have nice hair. It was pretty much the only thing he had going for him at this point in his life.

"Lies," Anakin said, drinking some more. "But you've seen the faculty. We're pretty evenly divided into terrifying, thinks they're terrifying, and Josh and Pinkie."

"And Lecter," Atton said, "Who thinks he can get away with the smarmy routine."

He eyed the bottle for a moment longer before setting it back down. "I should've punched him."

Not Lecter. But he'd figure out if he'd specify later.

"Lecter? Well, yeah," Anakin said. "And sent me a picture so I could use it as my phone wallpaper."

"Nah," Atton said. He took a sip from his glass. "Lewis. I mean, Lecter deserves it too, but."

"That's the creep from the home?" Anakin said.

"Yep," Atton said. He shook his head. "Anyone who's going to get up on stage and talk about having an 'unspoken love affair' with a minor to a whole bunch of people who are about to decide whether to leave a whole bunch of kids homeless or not based on his testimony deserves to be punched. Hell, anyone who's just the first half of that sentence should be punched repeatedly in the head."

"We can go find him and punch him now?" Anakin offered. "Because yes, he deserved to be hit repeatedly for being a selfish ass."

Atton rolled his eyes. "We're a set of ex-Sith Force users who've been drinking way too much already," he said. "I mean, I hate to use the 'irresponsible' word, but..."

"Fiiiiiiiiiiiine," Anakin said.

He thought about it.

"We could send someone else to do it?"

"We could do it in the morning," Atton said.

He eyed the already-empty bottles nearby, and amended, "... the afternoon."

"After pancakes, at least," Anakin agreed. "We need more drinks!"

Noooot really, Anakin, no.

"Ugh, I'd forgotten you're a happy drunk," Atton said. "Anyway, I still have like three bottles of juma in the fridge, go knock yourself out."

"But not literally, right?" Anakin checked as he wove his way carefully (and slowly because the floor wasn't that stable right now) to the fridge.

Atton glanced over his shoulder. "Not literally," he said, "Though if you do knock yourself out, I'm going to laugh my ass off."

"I wouldn't expect anything else," Anakin said, weaving back just as carefully and sitting back down.

Atton snickered.

"It's hilarious watching you try to be careful," he said, "It's like watching a rancor swimming."

They had apparently reached the less-than-lucid part of the evening.

"I'm much more graceful than that," Anakin said. "I once killed a T-Rex because I'm that awesome."

"Killing a T-Rex doesn't take grace," Atton said. "I've seen pictures. Those things are huge. You could stumble your way into killing one of 'em."

"You can stumble your way into getting eaten," Anakin said. "It takes grace to get on top of one not dirty."

"Are you telling me you wanted to fuck a T-Rex?" Atton said.

Deliberately misunderstanding, yes.

"What is wrong with you?" Anakin demanded, slamming back his drink. "Ugh, I need brain bleach now."

"Hey, you're the one who thought the word 'dirty' belonged within the same system as 'getting on top of a T-Rex'," Atton said, "Should we be careful with you around the rancor enclosure?"
