MCA #4, Monday Evening

Atton had woken up that morning with only a passable idea of what had happened the previous night; there'd been five full bottles of juma in his fridge, no food anywhere, and an overly enthusiastic message from Skywalker confirming drinking plans Atton had no memory of proposing to the guy. He'd decided the wise thing to do was to get back into bed and maybe not get out of it until he stopped feeling completely miserable on every level.

By five PM, he'd given up on that, and ordered pizza.

By eight PM, he'd opened the second bottle of juma and he was waiting, patiently, for the inevitable dramatic knock/sweep into the room combo that generally heralded Skywalker arriving just about anywhere.

"That much is obvious," Atton muttered, biting into his own pizza. "Watch your dumb holo, okay?"

"Fine," Anakin said. "Ten credits that two of the women start yanking each other's hair in fifteen minutes."

"I'm not betting credits on that," Atton said. "It's gonna happen. No doubt about it."

"Bet one of them will break a nail and go on and on about how expensive the manicure was," Anakin added.

Anakin rolled his eyes. "No. I watch the Amazing Race."

"Uh huh," Atton said, taking a swig.

"This is just easy to predict," Anakin said, waving his hand at the overdyed, over-tanned women sniping at each other.

"C'mon, even you can try it," Anakin said.

"Didn't you used to run classes based on that show?" Atton said. "No thanks."

"The Amazing Race? Yeah," Anakin said. "It was fun. I made the kids hunt down a mastadon once."

Atton let out a loud snort and flicked some cheese at him.

"I'm honest about it after drinks," Anakin declared.

"You're more fun after drinks," said Atton, who was slightly more honest after drinks.

"I am a delight all of the time," Anakin said.

This was demonstrably untrue.

"You're an ass all of the time," Atton said, "Sort of insightful some of the time, and a delight like... two percent."

Hey, that was two percent more than Atton would've given him if Atton had been sober.

"Then you caught me on a good night," Anakin said. "Thanks for inviting me over?"

Anakin was really, really rusty at the friendship thing.

You could sort of hear the 'you're easy to talk to' if you spoke fluid 'speaking through a bottle of juma juice', maybe?

Anakin hiccuped slightly. "We should probably have water but that seems like effort," he said.

"We'll be fine," Atton said. He eyed his bottle, and amended, "You'll be fine. I intend to keep drinking until my hangover lasts a month."

That was hyperbole. Probably.
