"Okay, where is it?"
The salesbeing twitched. There was something about this one's insistence on seeing this particular ship that left him... uneasy. The circumstances of acquiring it had been shrouded in secrecy, which was usually a bad sign.
On the other hand, the human did seem keen on buying it, which was a good thing.
"Over here, over here," the salesbeing said, zipping between the ships. "Came in a few standard rotations ago. My brother found it at a shipyard. And no, I don't know where it came from before that."
He had learned that if you just coughed up all the information ahead of time, no one would try to bully it out of you.
Atton squinted after it. He wasn't picking up anything weird, but then he didn't like digging. Hated it, actually. So there was always a chance the Toydarian was lying to him. Okay. "If I find out you're lying to me..." he warned.
The salesbeing rolled his eyes. "What point is there in lying?" he said. "I don't care where the ship is from. It is a good ship."
"Yeah," Atton sighed, looking up - and watching the Ebon Hawk gleam back at him. Damn it. "Yeah, I know." He shoved a credit chit at the guy. Didn't want to be hanging around him any more than he needed to. "I'll take it."
Poodoo. There had better be some evidence hidden inside. He'd left Mira as soon as he'd heard about the Hawk. Had to find it. Had to find Meetra. But now that he was here - now that he got to poke around her insides? His heart was sinking. It'd been scrubbed clean, no sign of where it had been or what it had been doing.
Even the stupid little droid wasn't on board any more.
He sank into the pilot's seat and muttered the foulest word he knew in Twi'lek, then hammered his forehead off the dashboard a couple of times. "Where the hell are you?" he muttered.
