"Thank you for seeing me. I am Mora, and I have come to see you on behalf of our leader here."

The Ithorian stood in the doorway to their apartment-slash-cell, looking expectant. He had called some time ago, requesting what Atton could only characterize as an audience with their resident pantsless Jedi. Been a while since he'd seen an Ithorian, but this one seemed about as earnest as the last one he'd spoken to.

"What does your leader want?" Meetra asked.

They'd been doing nothing but hanging around for over a day - this was a welcome distraction, for now. Depended on what the Ithorian wanted.

"Are you familiar with the restoration project on Telos?" Mora asked.

Telos had been razed by the Sith during the Jedi Civil War. They had bombed it in hopes of taking down the newly reawakened Revan. Even now, the planet suffered heavily under the consequences.

"Yes," Meetra replied. "Go on."

"Recently, we have run into contention with the corporation known as Czerka," Mora explained. "Perhaps you have heard of our troubles as well. Czerka has integrated themselves into the Telosian political system and economy. They are currently pressing to be awarded our planet restoration contracts. Their efforts hinder us greatly, and have terrible consequences for the planet's surface."

Meetra crossed her arms. "So what can I do--?"

"Our leader, Chodo Habat, is a powerful priest," Mora replied. "He sensed something upon your arrival - a disturbance, an echo in the Force. Chodo told me to tell you that if you could help heal Telos, it might be possible for him to help heal you."

She blinked. "What does that even mean?" An echo? A disturbance?

"I am unclear as to what Chodo means by this," Mora said apologetically. "He says the echo he felt upon your arrival suggests that you yourself are damaged. He can feel the pain through the Force."

In which Atton and Kreia have a heart-to-heart... )

In which this briefly turns into the Guardians of the Galaxy Trailer In The GFFA... )

The apartment they wound up in was... serviceable, if bland. A couple beds, a refresher, all the basic creature comforts...

"Just to be on the safe side, why don't you leave us a blaster or two?" Atton had asked TSF Guy. TSF Guy had not been amused. Whatever, TSF Guy's loss.

Atton

"This isn't good," Atton said. "We need to get off this station."

Meetra

"Why do we need to leave?" Meetra asked.

Not that she wouldn't like to, but...

Atton

"What do you think the TSF is going to find on Peragus?" Atton asked her. Seriously, think ahead! "That could bring the S--"

... and then what?

He cut himself short.

"You know what, forget it. As long as we're trapped here, it doesn't matter."

Kreia

"We cannot stay in any one place too long," Kreia volunteered. "But our path has brought us here for a reason."

She folded her sleeves together.

"I must meditate on this. In the mean time, we should rest."

Atton

Ah, yes, Jedi talk. Atton had missed it. So much.

"Yeah, you go ahead and meditate," he said irritably. "As for me, I could use some sleep."

Which didn't happen. Fifteen minutes of hanging around his bed and he was up again, poking at the consoles, hoping for something to happen. Ugh, he wasn't good at being left to his own devices - he might wind up thinking about stuff.

[[ and atton's time is running concurrent to fandom's again for a very brief time, meaning that this one post... is open for comm calls. do not expect long ones, however. taken from knights of the old republic 2 ]]

It was quiet. Not quiet quiet - not the kind of silence that rang in your ears for days, but the kind of silence Atton knew well, the hum of machinery in the background but little else.

It just wasn't the hum of the engines this time.

The security cage hummed at a different tone, consistent, no flickering. Atton knew this because it'd been the only thing he'd heard for at least thirty-six hours. Okay, not entirely true: the past twelve hours, he'd occasionally heard his own stomach gnawing at him.

Thirty-six hours ago: the last time he'd received food, water, and human attention. Not happy attention, granted. Getting locked up for smuggling and then getting double locked up because the guy in charge of the station thought he might be involved in some kind of sabotage? That didn't seem to inspire merry human interaction.

He was locked in a security cage which was locked in a locked room tended to by a bunch of impossible-to-hack droids - talk about overkill - and they weren't even bothering to check in on him anymore.

He wasn't sure whether they'd decided to starve him to death. Or it might have something to do with all the explosions and the gas leak and the screaming he'd heard thirty-six hours ago, but who knew? He could be starting to hallucinate after being stuck in here for this long. Hell, he could barely move in here. The muscles in his leg had gone way beyond cramps already.

Maybe this was it. End of the line. No more running.

Except not so much... )

[[ and thus commences canon! based on knights of the old republic 2: the sith lords. to be spaced out over the coming weeks since peragus especially takes like a million years. nfb, nfi, ooc-okay. WHEE CANON. ]]
