Handmaiden | "You came for me." The Handmaiden's voice was quiet. It hailed from a small corridor just south of the chamber they had entered. Soon, the Handmaiden herself followed. She looked... lost. |
Meetra | "Better late than never," Meetra said wryly, but her eyes were searching the Handmaiden's expression. Behind her, Atton's shoulder dropped against the wall with a soft thunk. This wasn't his conversation to have. |
Handmaiden | "Kreia..." The Handmaiden hesitated, but only for a moment. It was... tough, facing your own foolishness and the joy of the Exile's survival all at once. "...she said the council had ended you. And all along, she was one of those who had sought to kill us." |
Meetra | Meetra's expression softened. This wasn't Atris she spoke to. She and the Handmaiden had spoken many times before - meditated together, fought together. "Kreia has told a lot of lies, and the architecture is difficult to see." She meant the words to be a comfort. |
Handmaiden | The Handmaiden rubbed at her arm, glancing down. "When I heard her say that you were dead-- I... I failed you," she admitted. "I let my emotion run through me, and I acted without thinking. I wanted to punish her... hurt her, see her answer for what she had done to the Jedi, for leading you to the council..." |
Meetra | Meetra's mouth quirked a little. "Well, it's lucky for her I don't die that easily," she said, "or you'd wreck half the galaxy in revenge." She heard Atton stifle a snort behind her. |
Handmaiden | The Handmaiden was less amused. "Please don't joke about such things," she said. "You speak lightly of serious matters to me." |
Meetra | She really had been spending too much time with Atton. Oh well. "Are you all right?" Meetra asked, sobering. |
Brianna | "Of course." Handmaiden's stance shifted suddenly. She squared her shoulders and wiped the emotion from her face. "Forgive my display." She took a deep breath and steadied herself further. "I am the Last of the Handmaidens no longer," she announced. "I am Brianna, disciple of the last of the Jedi, and one who will stand with you against all the enemies that face us." |
Meetra | Meetra's smile broadened. "Then let's get to it, Brianna," she said warmly. "We have a planet to save." |
Atton | "Okay," Atton said, trailing after Meetra as she headed back into the chamber behind them. "Can I just get this all straight for a minute?" |
Meetra | Meetra sighed. "If you can do it in two minutes or less," she said. She wasn't stopping now; the Sith could arrive at any moment. |
Atton | "So Darth Nihilus is on his way," Atton said, following right behind. "The Sith who ate Visas' planet. And the reason he's on the way is because miss I'm The Last Of The Jedi No Really over there dragged you back from beyond the Outer Rim, then told everyone you were back, and then sat back until they showed up, trying to kill you. Am I getting this right?" |
Meetra | "Yep," Meetra said. "And Nihilus devoured Katarr because Atris has tried this before - with most of the Jedi Order. But she couldn't handle Nihilus, so she fled, and most of the Jedi died in the attack." |
Atton | "Then there's Kreia," Atton said, as they rounded the corner, towards the hangar bay, "who's gone to Malachor to destroy the Force by replicating the destruction of that planet, but who's threatening to kill herself and thus you if you don't show up to... what? I mean, I take it you're not on board with this 'destroying the Force' thing." |
Meetra | "That's the part we don't know yet," Meetra admitted. "But no more time for talking. We're here. Grab the controls, we need to get back to Citadel Station before it's too late." |
HK-47 | "Statement: Master, I have detected signals emanating from this planet that indicate the presence of other assassin droids such as myself." Nobody had any idea how HK-47 had wound up in the cockpit, and yet: there he was. |
Atton | "Yeah, well, they can stay there for all we care," Atton snapped. "Look, Meetra... we have bigger trouble." He pointed towards the viewscreen. Or rather, to the giant ships that shot past them, cutting through space. The ships themselves looked as if they had been cut open and had their paneling replaced haphazardly. They were followed by a damned armada of fighters. The Ebon Hawk rolled in between them, soaring right below one of the larger ships. They managed to cut by them without being noticed - and slid into one of Citadel Station's docking bays at a speed that probably wasn't too healthy for the ship. Outside, there was already a contingent of people waiting on them. The station was lit with the violent red of the warning lights. It cast an unhealthy luminescence over Lieutenant Grenn's already-worried face. "I didn't believe it when Linu reported the Ebon Hawk had docked, but I guess it really has," he said. |
Meetra | This wasn't exactly what Meetra had hoped for. She'd rushed down the loading ramp at high speed. Now she was catching her breath, listening to Grenn and his troops lay out what had happened. "...Sith forces have breached the module and are attempting to pen us up in the compound," said the man next to Grenn. It took her a moment to recognise him - he was Zherron, the commander from Dantooine. What was he doing here? "It came out of nowhere," Grenn said. "A fleet of warships dropped out of hyperspace, and before we could scramble the fighters to intercept them, we were under attack. A squad of troops sent by Queen Talia of Onderon are currently trying to keep the Sith from sabotaging the fuel system..." Talia? Meetra's list of allies was growing. |
Atton | Atton still didn't feel too great, but he'd swapped his blood-stained white shirt in for a spare black Jedi tunic, which did a lot to cover things up. He hopped off the loading ramp. "So does that mean you won't be putting us in force cages again?" "Thank goodness you are here!" That was one of the Ithorians. "You must help us. If the Sith are not stopped, the whole planet will be destroyed. All will have been for nothing." Chodo Habat! That'd been the guy's name. "After you left the Station the first time, the situation of Telos became greatly improved," Chodo continued. "Eventually, the Telosian Council acceded to our complaints, and Czerka was ordered to cease their operations. From what I understand, they have relocated to other rebuilding planets in the Outer Rim. This is regrettable, and I hope that their influence does not spread far. Things looked so promising, and now it looks like our efforts may all be for naught." |
Meetra | Meetra sighed. "You need to get off the station, Chodo," she said. Ithorians weren't warriors. They would be of no help to them, while losing them would be a terrible hit to the Republic. Chodo Habat nodded, but he hesitated. "Perhaps it is the destiny for Telos to suffer," he said miserably. "It seems that the Sith will not relent until it is destroyed." Then he slipped past them. |
Mandalore | "I should leave as well." Mandalore's iron boots hit the floor of the hangar bay with a loud clang. "I must gather my Mandalorian warriors. We will rejoin you when time comes for an assault on the capital ship - the Ravager." |
Meetra | Mandalore would be a loss for their defense of the station, but the Mandalorian troops he'd bring to the table might do a lot in their battle against the Sith. Meetra nodded. "Watch your back," she said. |
Mandalore | "Don't worry about me," Mandalore said. "I can handle myself just fine. Look after your own health." He paused and looked towards the ramp. Wait... "I thought I saw you disembark with Bao-Dur, is he here?" |
Atton | Atton took a glance back into the ship himself, and blinked. "Now that you mention it, where did he run off to? HK-47, also." |
Meetra | ... They were missing two people. How the Force had that happened-- "The Sith are trying to hole us up in this compound," Zherron barked. "We need to break through, or our reinforcements won't be able to move out." "We're on it," Meetra said immediately. Bao-Dur and HK-47 could wait. They were under siege, and they had no time to waste. |
