"Wow. You're early."

Atton lifted his head up and met the bartender's eyes. He shrugged. "Just felt like that kind of day," he said. "Maybe pick up some of your best bar food later."

He wasn't planning to leave here any time soon, and not just because he didn't want to find out how Jessica was going to react if she noticed that he'd thrown up in their waste basket this morning. No, there were Reasons, and they were sound.

"What's this music anyway?"

The bartender - cute girl - gave him a funny look. "What, you walk into this bar and you don't know Metallica?" she said, gesturing at the generally groddy look of the place (seriously, were those car seats for chairs?) and everything.

Atton shrugged. "I like it," he said. "Let's keep that on."

"Sure," she said, rolling her eyes. "As long as you're my only customer."

"Great."
